summer

summer is three days away for me and it sometimes feels like it is fall outside. So far I have planned three trips but I do not know how well they will go since I am low on money. Last year my family didn't take a vacation but this year both sides of my family planned one and they both some how fell on the same week so now someone has to cancel and make a new date. Of course this cant be simple and there has to be a family feud over it. I just know that I am for sure going to Cancun mexico for a week. I have never been there before, the last place I went was Jamaica about six year ago with my moms side. That was a lot of fun but i didn't know how hot and humid it was going to be. Now i know why people there don't wear a lot of clothes. Every time I took a shower I would dry off then wait like five minutes and dry off again because of the sweat. We had a lot of lizards in our room that would crawl on the ceiling. My mom is deathly scared of snakes so every time she would see one she would think it was a snake and have a mild heart attack. I hear in mexico there are a lot of lizards but its not as humid a Jamaica.

Papers

It seems like most classes don't make you write one paper till the end of the year. Every time its about three weeks before finals and all five of my classes have one due the same week. I procrastinate so this is not easy for me. I have had a lot of papers that are almost the same thing. When i went to Carbondale, I wrote almost two papers a week and since I was taking my general classes the teachers had the same papers. I don't know if it is plagiarism if I use part of one paper for a paper in another class. I don't think it should be plagiarism because plagiarism is taking the words from another writer, but i would be taking words from myself so i don't think it would be but i don't want to risk it. I would say that it would be frowned on because they want u to try but if i already thought of it and took the time the first time then it should count. This could be avoided if professors had some kind of database that showed what other teachers were assigning but I am sure most students like how it is.

Gass Prices

My truck gets twelve miles to the gallon, and gass prices are almost three dollars. how am I going to afford that if i have to fill up a 33 gallon tank wich around three dollars would be almost 100 dollars. People cant afford this mainly around where I live because most people have to drive farm truck or big trucks or vehicles for work. I want to sell my truck and get a car so I can at least afford to drive this summer but i have to much money put into it and its a gas sucker so who would give what i want for it? I need to get a motorcycle but i cant save up because im puting all my money saved up into my gass tank.
when gas prices go up everyone seems to get crabbie and crab about driving, I know im one of those people, and I wish there was something I could do about it but there is absolutly nuthing with ticks me off. When i went to Carbondale last semester it would almost cost me 60$ to go home and back. Next semester im going to Semo and if gass prices stay like they are it will be around 100$, THIS IS NOT GOOD!

Blog report III

I wander how many people read my blog? there are people that use twitter every day just to show everyone else what they are doing and are up to. Others use Face Book statuses to make a comment on their day, complain about something or say something funny that happened to them. I have never been into that I enjoy looking at peoples pictures and seeing what old friends have been up to and I do look at statuses because they are very interesting. Blogging is like a big status, I have finally realized, it was usless for me to write about something boring like a paragraph over how my day was or anything else just to get the project done. I would'nt put something anything on my Face Book status unless I was important and I wanted to send a message out. So why put usless stuff in a blog if you know people would'nt be interested in it.
I talked about how spring was here and that i could'nt wait for summer then I talked about how im a server. I don't know how interesting thoser are but they are to me. When i look at other peoples blogs it seems that everyone has a different style of writing and their bloggs are in a way all related. Reading other peoples blogs is very interesting because some people choose to not get into detail and do it just to get by other people choose to write something interesting so that maby people will follow their blog more.

serving

I just started serving a bout two months ago. So far i like it but it seems there are always customers that just want to ruin my day. I worked at Texas Road House two years ago as a buss boy and when I would hear about customers being difficult or mean i would think it was funny and didn't see why waiters would get so worked up about it. Now that I am a server I understand why servers hate people like that.

I work at a small restaurant in a small town that just opened up. Everyone that goes there has high expectations about it and will complain about everything. Since I have become a waiter people complain about the wait the soda being flat and all the above. There are no real problems people just want to complain about something. It's very hard to be nice to people that treat me like dirt. When they crab and glare all i can do is smile and be nice even though i most likely wont see a tip from them.

I believe that waiting tables build character and helps with my people skills which will help me in life. I have noticed i am a better talker in public and more up front to people with problems and i my self am not as scared to bring up a problem to a stranger.

Spring

I’m glad spring is here because that means summers getting close and I get to go fishing and be outside. It does suck though, that spring means I come closer to finals in most of my classes. Since the weather has been like summer weather lately I have been getting caught up playing sports and being outside rather than my school work. This has happened every year during high school because I would be at track every day and then when I got home I would want to do something I enjoyed like fishing or hanging with friends instead of doing my homework.
I am going to have to do something drastic to get all of my grades up but I think with a little pressure of time I will be able to pull through and get everything done and in on time. It will be such a relief to pass every class and be able to enjoy the summer knowing I may be able to transfer to another college and start my major there.

blog report two

These bloggs are hard to keep up with as the year gets closer to an end. All my classes are starting to have midterms and more homework is becoming due. I dont know how to blogg very well but i im still trying as you can tell. It is so hard to write about something i want to write about since i have alway been told to write about or what subject to cover. I guess this is freestyle writing which i have never done.
I wish blogger had spell check because i am not good at spelling and i can tell as I go along that i am spelling words wrong. It gets even worse since i am the one writing whatever i am thinkin so my sentences dont flow as well as they should.
I am glad tho that i get to share some stories about me and hope that some people are reading them. I have read some peoples bloggs and am very impressed how well some people write and how good they are about sharing stories and thoughts in a way that everyone can read them.
I for sure need to keep up with my blogg more. I want to start blogging about subjects people want to read about and that they will comment and put their thoughts into. I think this is a good source of writing that will make my writing stronger, especially in freestyle.

Life choices College to coal miner?

Since i was little i have always dreamed of going to college. My parents have always pushed me to do good in school so i can go to a good college. When i was a senior i fond out what school i would be going to and had everything already planned out to my college graduation. I started SIUC last fall and then transfered to SWIC because i did not like SIUC and that was ok with me because i dont mind switching because i want to spend four years at a school i like. I was planning on attending SEMO next fall but now have another offer on the table. My step dad works in the coal mine buisness and is always looking for new opportunities so the other day him and my mom came into my room and sat down and said that my stepdad ,Mike, found a good job for the new power plants coal mine in Livly Grove and that if i droped out of college now i could get a good job and make more money than i could going into criminal justice that I am currently in. He said the benifits where good and that it is a dependable job and that he pulled some strings and i could have a interview if i wanted. This was a total shock to me since they have always been so tough on me about college and now they are telling me to drop out and go into the work force at 19 and be in the same job for the rest of my life. I still dont know what I will do but this is one of the most stressfull and important decision of my life.

Blog report

I have been looking at other peoples blogs and came to find out that everyone has a special interest in what they like to write about. Everyones blog represents them and it teaches other people what their intersest are like and who they are. So far i dont like blogging because i keep getting locked out of blogger because someone got into my gmail account but i think i finally got it back and running so i have some catching up to do. I have not got use blogger for that long and have never bloged in my life because i dont think anyone really cares about what I am thinking but when i read other peoples blogs I keep finding myself interested so maby theres someone who is interested in mine.

Favorite quote

I found a quote that struck my attention while i read through Writing to Change the World. The quote is by Oliver Wendell Holmes he states "The mind, once expanded to the dimensions of bigger ideas, never returns to its original size." I think that he is saying that people should think big and go for their dreams or whatever they want being big or small because once they do it could change their life in a good way and if they dont think big and act on it they may live in regret and never get the chance to do what they want to do to live a pure and successful life. Once people think big and stop thinking about things that dont matter in their life and go for what is important they may never think small again due to how much they like the change and how good the rewards are.

Hello, my name is Nicholas Lee, I go by Nick, this is my first blog so i will tell you a little something about myself. I was born in Belleville IL and now live in Freeburg IL. I graduated from Freeburg community High School in 2009 started college at Southern Illinois University Carbondale(SIUC). I went a semester there and liked it for awhile but near the end of the fall semester i decided it wasnt where i wanted to spend four years at. I decided to transfer to SWIC because i thought it would be cheeper and easier to take classes that would transfer to another four year college. I plan to attend Southeast missouri state (SEMO) in the fall of 2010. Im studying in the field of Criminal Justice following the footsteps of my mom who is in the Fairaview Heights FBI.
I played alot of sports in high school including soccer, hockey, basketball, and track. I left basketball early to play hockey my sophmore year. I played club basketball and soccer. I got tired of track my juinor year so i tried out for baseball but i hav'nt played baseball since the third grade so i got cut and went back to track. My favorite baseball teams are the Cardinals and Red Sox. My favorite hockey team is the Blues and my favorite football team is the Colts. I love to play golf and over the years have gotten better at it. My favorite golfer is Tiger Woods, and i dont care what he did he is still one of the greatest golfers to play the game.
